Dr. Hüsniye Kantarci Receives Young Investigator Award from the Brain Behavior Research Foundation!

Congratulations to Dr. Kantarci for receiving a Young Investigator Award from the Brain Behavior Research Foundation!  This award program provides support for the most promising young scientists conducting neurobiological and psychiatric research. It will provide $70,000 over two years to support Dr. Kantarci's research geared towards understanding the role for glia cells in the development of neurons into excitable cells. This research is part of Dr. Kantarci's overall interest in dysregulation of neuronal excitability and how it is implicated in the pathologies of numerous diseases including chronic pain, epilepsy, and neuro- psychiatric disorders such as bipolar disorder, anxiety, and depression.
