Featured Speaker(s): Ted Price - UT Dallas
2024-25 Neuroscience Seminar Series

Description

Dr. Ted Price is a professor of Behavioral and Brain Sciences at The University of Texas at Dallas.

Dr. Price will discuss his lab's work on understanding chronic pain mechanisms using human tissue samples from rare surgeries and from organ donors. He will start with a discussion of characterization of the molecular composition of the human DRG and how it changes in people with neuropathic pain. He will also discuss how his lab is developing new technologies and assays to understand chronic pain disorders using humanized models. He will then discuss how his lab is moving toward single cell and spatial sequencing of the human spinal cord and how this work can reveal new targets for the treatment of pain.
