Dr. Harold Zakon received the Carl Friedrich von Siemens Research Award

Dr. Harold Zakon was awarded the Carl Friedrich von Siemens Research Award from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.  The mission of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation is to promote academic cooperation between excellent scientists and scholars from abroad and from Germany.  The award is granted in recognition of a scientist whose fundamental discoveries, new theories, or insights have had a significant impact on their own discipline and who are expected to continue producing cutting-edge achievements in the future. Award winners are invited to spend a period of up to one year cooperating on a long-term research project with specialist colleagues at a research institution in Germany.  Dr. Zakon spent time in Munich and Konstanz collaborating with fellow scientists during this past spring and summer.
